  • Must be able to climb up a metal ladder resting on a pontoon to get back in the boat

  • All participating guests must know how to swim and tread water
  • Arrive 5-10 min prior to check-in time to find parking
  • This is a wild and free excursion. No refunds are given in the event we do not get to view mantas the night of your tour.
  • If you are unable to swim and would like to remain on the boat, we welcome you. "Ride alongs" are a paid ticket as it is a reserved seat on the boat.
  • We have full discretion to refuse service to guests based on attire, behavior, physical fitness & condition
  • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
  • Please arrive no later than your scheduled check in time, as we have important information to review prior to leaving the dock, as well as outfit all guests with the equipment needed for the tour.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 16 travelers

This trip was excellent and brings out the life from within you. I mean when’s the last time you donned snorkel gear and slid off the edge of a boat into the water at night time? From the first moment my family went in, we were viewing beautiful manta rays , so many of them swam right by us, grazing us with their long wings and often touching me. These are massive gods creatures that are of high intelligence. I was humbled by the experience and thrilled to go into their underwater deep blue habitat. The tour was highly organized, the boat was nice and big and the Captain was most excellent. After we got back onto the boat, the cool breeze, coupled with the sights and sounds of everything around us was a somber reminder that life is good and people are kind. Also, I was totally ready for some big island fruit! Don’t miss out on this please.

Manta ray snorkel is incredible, a 5 star experience. I reduced 2 stars for the experience with the company. Watching manta ray is such a serene and beautiful experience that you can’t wrong with any company. I would go with the one that offers the best rates next time. The captain is good and the crew is brilliant. The guide in the water was super helpful and knowledgeable. I felt the guide who received us first lacked in social skills needed for the job and that was kind of a bummer - didn’t start the tour on a high. Also my partner got a bigger size snorkel mask and lost 15 minutes in the water adjusting and changing the mask. Snorkel time: 45 minutes. We both were novice swimmers and were totally comfortable.

Best ever experience. I was apprehensive reading other people’s reviews that no guarantee to see any manta ray. And other tours take 3 hours while this one is only 1 and half hour. Everything turned out perfectly. It is plus we did not need to spend 2 hours in boat in the pitch dark black night. The viewing sight is so close to the shore that we can swim over. And, We saw over 10 manta ray. 7 of them touched me and swam right in front of my nose. One of the best tour experiences. Kate greated us at the van and helped with all the gears. The captain Shelly is very patient. Only thing I will say that try to keep the same family together. We got separated to different viewing pad.

It was super cool. The manta rays do barrel rolls right up to the light board and occasionally rub up against you. These creatures are impressive and look like angels in the water. Highly recommend. Great experience and guides Seth and Colleen are stellar🤙🏻

This is an awesome trip. So many mantas and so much fun. I really appreciate the staffs, friendly and helpful. The only issue is please make sure that you have wore the swimsuit before check in.

The Manta Rays were swimming upside down 1-2 inches below our stomachs. It was the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen or experienced. Had a wonderful time- the captain and crew were so nice and informative. We learned so much about mantas!

I had the rays floating right under me, it was incredible!! There is nothing to do justice to describe this as absolutely fascinating! I was worried being in the sea at might in the dark would be creepy, but the lights they have make this a non-issue:) great family crew!!

Amazing experience. These gentle giants swim with such grace. Beautiful creatures from afar and up close. There is literally no danger with the manta ray. They look like giant stingrays but they are NOT! Life jackets or pool noodles available to keep you afloat as you watch. All my kids were with me and enjoyed it. My 10 year old daughter made it almost the full session (45 minutes or so) but grew tired of the snorkeling gear. The staff was very receptive of this and aided in bringing her (and my wife) back to the boat while still making her feel accomplished for what she had just done. She loved it too. Worth every penny and will do it again. One of the better life experiences that you must experience. Mahalo

What an amazing experience! I had to talk some of the family into it as it sounded potentially spooky to them, but WOW are we all glad we did it. We had 5 rays visit, with 3 hanging around almost the whole time. They swim SO close up to you, it's really wild. Everyone had the biggest smiles on their faces at the end. Dolphin Discoveries did a great job with our hosts, Nahoni and Colleen, as well as Kai the captain - all so helpful and made everyone super comfortable with what they were about to do. Don't question it - just do it!

Amazing experience. So many Manta Rays playing and swimming.. watching these gentle giants was an incredible experience! A must do on the Big Island. Captain Craig, Kate, Lahoni, Colleen all worked together to make the evening fantastic. Just a 3 minute boat ride from the boat ramp(which can be chaotic with so many business and private boats launching) but with wetsuits and pool noodles for extra buoyancy.. you hold on to the float board and watch the Mantas swim and eat… amazing!!

It was one of best experience of my life. The stuff was so cool and you could tell that they love their job. I recommend to borrow GoPro for 40$ because things you will see are unbelieveble. Mantas are literally not even milimeter away from you. And they are huge !! Some children got scared of them but I found them really beautifull and fascinating animals.
